Board Candidate Bios

PAULL VEROULIS

Candidate for the Board • Whitefish Lake Golf Club

I learned to read a green before I learned to read a book. My father is a PGA Life Member, and
I was raised on a golf course — up with the maintenance crew at dawn, out until the light gave
out. I’ve parked the carts, changed the cups at sunrise, and closed down the grill. There isn’t a
corner of a golf club I haven’t worked, from courses across Montana to The Tradition, PGA
West, and Thunderbird Country Club in the Coachella Valley.

I first played Whitefish Lake at 12 in the State divisional tournament, starting a connection to
this place that’s lasted decades. When I moved home in 2018, joining WLGC was the easiest
decision I’ve ever made. I still compete in Montana’s top amateur events and have earned
spots on several Montana Cup teams. Off the course, I own and run Grizzly Ridge Roofing &
Exteriors and work as a real estate broker with Coldwell Banker Mountain Properties —
budgets, contracts, crews, and property, which is exactly what a board deals with.

If you elect me, my focus is simple: keep the course in the best shape possible every day of the
season, protect the member experience — starting with pace of play — and keep this the best
deal in golf, because I’ll watch the club’s money like it’s my own. And I’ll stand behind our
junior program, one of the strongest in the region, so the next generation falls in love with this
game the way we did.

I love this game, this club, and this community. I’d be honored to put my background to work
for you, and I’d be grateful for your vote.

JOEL PEMBERTON

Hello friends, my name is Joel Pemberton. My wife, Chantel, and our three children have called Whitefish home since 2012, when we moved here from Washington State. Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to become deeply involved in this incredible community. I served as President of the Whitefish Rotary Club, Prime Minister of the Whitefish Winter Carnival, Volunteer Leader at Whitefish Young Life, Circle of Giving Member of the Whitefish Community Foundation and have served on several local boards.

One of my favorite connections to our community has been through the Whitefish Lake Golf Club. I’ve enjoyed countless Friday afternoons golfing with a great group of local members, and introducing two of my three kids to a lifelong love of the game, with hopes for the third still alive!

I am seeking a position on the board because I care deeply about preserving and enhancing the exceptional golf experience we enjoy today. My commitment is simple: listen thoughtfully to our members, make responsible decisions, and help ensure that our beautiful 36-hole course continues to thrive for generations to come.

MATT ZIGNEGO

My name is Matt Zignego. I am running for a spot on the Whitefish Lake Golf Club Board of Directors. I am a 1999 grad of Whitefish High School and have been a season pass holder at WLGC since 1995. I love this place and I would like the opportunity to be a part of its stewardship. WLGC is a jewel in a very special town and I would be honored to have your vote to work to maintain its luster. Thank you!

JUNE HANSON

I discovered the beauty and charm of Whitefish more than 22 years ago, and I am proud to call it my home. I truly appreciate the resources, activities, and services this gem of a community provides. The Whitefish Lake Golf Course has been a cornerstone of my summers—two beautiful, well maintained courses, a staff I’ve come to know and respect, and a welcoming environment where I’ve built lasting friendships. Serving on the board would give me the opportunity to give something back by using the skills I’ve acquired over my career in finance and leadership development to support the long term success of this organization. I care deeply about responsible financial stewardship, strong operational leadership, and creating a welcoming experience for both members and visitors. My genuine enjoyment of playing the game keeps me connected to what golfers’ value—good play, a sense of community, and the feeling of belonging that makes a round memorable. As a board member, I will work to ensure the staff and course continue to thrive, guided by the appreciation and passion that have shaped my experience here for many years. Thank you for the opportunity to be considered as a new member of the board.

ANDY MCQUARY

My name is Andy McQuary. I have been a member at WLGC for 11 of the past 16 years (I had delusions of grandeur and moved away, but there is no place like the Flathead). I was also the brewer at Great Northern Brewing Co from 2009 – 2014, so some may recognize me from there. I currently work for a general contractor based here in Whitefish called Seven Hills Construction.

Work stuff aside, I basically spend every free moment I have during the season here at WLGC. I have what some may refer to as “a golf problem.” I love this course, and find it incredibly special the facilities we get to enjoy here as residents.

I would like to give back to this community that I enjoy so much, and I feel that my perspective would be beneficial for the administration of the club. I’m a stickler for golf tradition, but at the same time I recognize that we are facing new challenges as a community and as a golf club. If elected I will help continue the great work of previous boards and hope to bring some youthful perspective to the table. I would like this club to have the same positive impact on residents for generations to come, as it has for me.

DAVE LEFCOURT

I’ve been a member of WLGC for 21 years, and this club is my favorite place. I play nine holes nearly every day, sometimes with fellow members, sometimes with visitors, and often on my own. I cross paths with members, guests, and staff on the course every day, and those conversations give me a real sense of what they value and what’s on their minds.

The club has gotten busier over the years, yet it has kept its small-town feel. It is exceptionally well run, and the club continues to improve year after year. I’d like to help keep that momentum going while protecting the character that makes WLGC special.

I’m also genuinely interested in how the operations of a golf course work, and I want to give back to a club that has given me so much. I believe my business experience, my daily presence on the course, and the relationships I’ve built with members and staff would make me a useful voice on the board.

Dave Lefcourt has been a member of Whitefish Lake Golf Club for 21 years. He is an executive recruiter with 25 years of experience, including 18 years running his own firm, Skilled Source Staffing, where he focuses on healthcare leadership searches. He holds a finance degree from Towson University. Dave plays the course almost daily and has built strong relationships with fellow members, the starters, the marshals, and the staff.
Thank you for your consideration.

JESSICA TUCKER

I would be honored to serve a second term on the Whitefish Lake Golf Course Board. Having previously served one term, I understand the responsibility of listening to members, balancing the needs of the club with the realities of running the course, and helping protect the quality, traditions, and value that make Whitefish Lake Golf Club so special.

Whitefish Lake Golf Club has also been a meaningful part of our family’s life for many years. My husband and I have always been proud to be members, and it has been especially rewarding to watch our children grow up enjoying the game and participating in the many programs offered here.

I would love the opportunity to continue giving back to a place that means so much to our family and community. I would bring my previous board experience, a strong commitment to our members, and a genuine desire to help Whitefish Lake Golf Course thrive for generations to come.
