ERIC MAY

Past board member 2020-2023

Past President 2023

Current Member of the House and Greens committees.

Downtown business owner for a family-owned business of 43 years. WLGC is an amazing place with outstanding membership. I enjoyed working on the board and was very proud of what was accomplished. I would like to continue the work and serve as a member of the board of directors in 2026.

TED JOHANN

My name is Ted Johann and I am running for the board of Whitefish Lake Golf Course. I have been a member here for over 40 years. I have had great times at our golf course and I just want to give back a little time to the place I have enjoyed so much over the years.

I thought this would be a good time to put in for the board since the north golf course is going through a major renovation of the irrigation system over the next few years. Since I spent approximately 40 years in the irrigation business, I was hoping I could have a positive input on the installation of the irrigation system and try to keep the inconvenience of the installation as smooth as possible for the members.

Thanks for your vote – Ted Johan

CORY IZETT

My name is Cory Izett. I would like to get my name on the list of people applying for the Board of Directors of the golf course. I golf over 100 rounds a year in Whitefish. My dad used to be on the board. My mom was senior ladies champion five out of seven years. So obviously our family has a lot of connections with the golf course. I love the course and would like to give back to the golfing community. I was on the board of directors of the Flathead Valley Clay target club for 18 years. I served as vice president and also as president so I do know what’s involved with the topics and issues that the board of directors has to deal with. Thank you very much.

BEN SIDOR

I would love the opportunity to serve as a member of the board at WLGC.

Born and raised in Great Falls, MT, my passion for the game began as I played junior and high school golf competitively, playing all throughout the state as I grew up. As a result of that opportunity I most looked forward to playing tournaments at WLGC and I really connected with the courses and the people.

These days, I feel so fortunate to be able to live and golf in Whitefish, and I value the connections and friendships that I have made since I first became a member in 2020. It is what has drawn me to be interested in serving on the Board; the variety of golfers that I have met over the past few years…from those that I have built a regular rapport with, to meeting new golfers I get paired with. I understand how wide ranging the needs of the membership are and I hope to represent everyone, rather than a few. I would hope to help preserve the things that make WLGC and the golf community special and also help guide future changes as they arise.

When I am not working as a Professional Land Surveyor, you can find me at the course, most likely dialing in my short game…come by and introduce yourself and know that I’m all ears when it comes to putting tips.

Thanks -Ben Sidor

RYAN HENNEN

I am submitting this letter to you to express my interest in one of the open positions on the Whitefish Lake Golf Club Board of Directors. Having grown up in Whitefish and spent most of my youth working and playing at Whitefish Lake Golf Club, it would be an exciting opportunity to hold a position on the Board of Directors. I have been an avid supporter of Whitefish Lake Golf Club for decades.

I would strive to ensure Whitefish Lake Golf Club continues to provide a high-quality golf experience while simultaneously providing affordable access for local golfers. I understand the club’s reputation and assure you of my commitment to abide by the club’s rules and regulations, as well as promoting its standing within the community.

As someone who learned the game of golf at Whitefish Lake Golf Club, it would be an honor to teach my own two sons the game at the same course that provided me with top-tier programs to introduce junior golfers to the sport, foster their passion, and help them develop their skills in a positive environment.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my letter of interest and I look forward to the possibility of becoming a volunteer member of the Board of Directors for the course I know and love.

Sincerely – Ryan Hennen

SCOTT RINGER

As you probably know, I served on the board several years ago.

I am more than happy to serve again.

My background in Hospitality allows me to “see” the course etc from a potentially different perspective.

I also have an accounting background although I am NOT a CPA. Sometimes that is better.

Giving back to this wonderful club is a joy.

Thanks, Scott Ringer

KATHY SULLIVAN

This email is coming from me, Kathy Sullivan, and I would love to be put on the ballet this year for the golf course Board of Directors.  It has been a desire of mine to run for the position for many years, however my work has always kept me too busy in the summer to be certain I would have the time to commit to being a good team member.  Now, finally, I feel I am ready and able to run.

In 1981, I began my business, Mountain Photography, on the Big Mountain (Whitefish Mountain Resort) and had the ‘on the slopes’ photography project. Plus a retail store in the ski area village called Crazy Bear for 27 years, until I sold my ski area business in 2008. That was the winter facet of Mountain Photography. In 1883, I began the summer facet, the business of being under contract to shoot the commercial whitewater photos, 7 days a week, for the whitewater raft companies in West Glacier. I still have the whitewater photo contracts with all 4 raft companies, 43 years later, and hire 8 summer employees to help me with the project. It has been a very ‘hands on’ , and intense business for me all these years. However, as of this summer I have been able to leave the entire project of shooting the photos on the river to my crew. Happily, I am now only having to handle the administrative end of Mountain Photography. This new arrangement with my business has given me lots more time to play golf, and time to commit to the idea of potentially become a member of the Golf Course Board. 😊

I have been a member of the Whitefish Lake Golf Course for 47 years. I’ve watched it grow from not much more than an air strip converted into a golf course, to the first class facility we have now. Not a day of golfing goes by when I don’t think about how lucky we are to have these 2 amazing public golf courses in our little town!!!

With my background as a business owner/operator  for almost 45 years, managing up to 14 employees, and deep love for the sport of golf, I feel I could be a viable asset to the Whitefish Lake Golf Course Board. Being a member of the Board would be a dream come true after so many years of wishing I had the time to put my name on the ballet.

Thank you for listening to my story – Kathy

ANDY MCQUARY

My name is Andy McQuary. I have been a member at WLGC for 11 of the past 16 years (I had delusions of grandeur and moved away, but there is no place like the Flathead). I was also the brewer at Great Northern Brewing Co from 2009 – 2014, so some may recognize me from there. I currently work for a general contractor based here in Whitefish called Seven Hills Construction.

Work stuff aside, I basically spend every free moment I have during the season here at WLGC. I have what some may refer to as “a golf problem.” I love this course, and find it incredibly special the facilities we get to enjoy here as residents.

I would like to give back to this community that I enjoy so much, and I feel that my perspective would be beneficial for the administration of the club. I’m a stickler for golf tradition, but at the same time I recognize that we are facing new challenges as a community and as a golf club. If elected I will help continue the great work of previous boards and hope to bring some youthful perspective to the table. I would like this club to have the same positive impact on residents for generations to come, as it has for me.

Thanks for your consideration – Andy McQuary
