Annual Meeting Recap

Last Saturday’s WLGC Annual Business Meeting held in the Club House, while attendance was smaller than normal, was very informative with a very positive financial report for the 2017 fiscal year.

Memberships were right on budget for the year and green fee play was up over 2016 by roughly four percent. The report from various committees highlighted the progress made in facility improvements both on the golf course and the clubhouse. The biggest projects for the year included the completion of all the new tees that now include 5 sets on every hole to accommodate all levels of desire and player ability, along with the new double in size practice putting green on the North Course. New lights will be installed on the Christmas Tree of the new putting green.

During the Annual Meeting election of new Board Members saw Jessica Tucker, Rick Billuni and Dow Powell elected for the new three-year terms. The WLGA thanks everyone for voting and for the interest in serving on the board. We extend our appreciation to Scott Ringer for also tossing his hat into the ring for election. Whitefish Lake Golf Club is a membership driven club thanks to the efforts of the Board of Directors and committee input.

Paul Jeremiassen was inducted into the WLGA Hall of Fame for his many years of service to the Senior League through his organization and promotion building the league to its current 76 members that play every Tuesday afternoon. The “Geezer” League is a fun opportunity for slightly older men to play and compete on a friendly level each week and get to know other members.
