Course Maintenance updates

North Course upgrades
Construction of new forward Gold Tees on the North Course for holes 8 and 18 have been completed and will open in the next few weeks after the sod has rooted.

The bunker behind number 9 green on the North Course has been enlarged, raised and is now visible from the fairway. The new bunker will better frame the hole visually and perhaps stop a few long shots from over shooting the green entirely.

Also to be completed in next week is a new cart path on hole # 8 North that relocates the path more out of the line of play.

Parking spaces added
As part of the planned improvements at the course this year additional parking will be added along the 1st fairway on the North Course. While the addition of another 14 spaces doesn’t seem like much it will help handle the overflow on busy days.

Greens Continue to improve
As the weather warms and soil temperatures rise the couple of greens hit hard by winter stress are beginning to show improvement. The course remains in great condition and playability is excellent for this early in the season.

Our crew has been busy over-seeding, aerating (punching holes with small solid tines) verti-cutting (which allows better penetration of water and nutrients to the root zone) and adding appropriate levels of fertility to enhance the growth of the all the greens.

Even with all the activity the greens are all rolling nicely and with reasonable speeds.
